Our Host Families and 'homestay'
In Ireland great emphasis is placed on family life, and "homestay" is the ideal choice for students who wish to have a home-from-home experience with the opportunity to speak English all day.
Warm, friendly families
All of our host families are selected personally by Andrew Basquille, Director of Language and Leisure. Many of them have been hosting students for us for over fifteen years. They know how important it is to provide students a home away from home and take their responsibility very seriously. Our families host students because they have a genuine interest in people and they love to talk and to learn about other cultures. They regard the experience of meeting foreign people as important for their own children
Meals
Accommodation is full board. Students have breakfast and the main evening meal with their family and a packed lunch is provided. On Sunday all meals are with the family. Normally, there is a maximum of 3 students per family at any one time.
A healthy balanced diet is offered to students. Breakfast typically includes toast, cereal, milk, tea or coffee. The evening meal is the main meal of the day with either meat, fish or poultry, vegetables and dessert.
Towels and bed linen / washing clothes
Bed linen is provided by the host families and light laundry is included in the family wash. Students may bring their own towels. It is recommended that students bring only machine-washable clothes, as hand washing and dry cleaning are not generally provided.
